Abstract

This article examines the role of social media in the development of communicative competence. Based on a review of recent studies, the mechanisms through which virtual communication enhances verbal and non-verbal skills, critical thinking, and empathy are identified. An empirical study was conducted involving surveys and interviews with students who actively use social networks. The results indicate that participation in discussions, content creation, and engagement in thematic groups contribute to the development of adaptability, intercultural competence, and emotional sensitivity. The study highlights the significance of social media as a tool for fostering communicative competence and provides recommendations for its effective use in educational and professional contexts.
