Abstract

This article examines the theory of deixis, deictic units, shifters and their introduction into linguistic studies, the types of deixis, personal deixis, theoretical approaches to personal deixis, as well as the linguistic units that express it. To illustrate the linguistic means that represent personal deixis, examples from classical literature are provided and analyzed.
