Abstract

This article is dedicated to describing the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) and TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) models, explaining the protocols within them, and highlighting the capabilities of each. The models provide a comprehensive, standardized, and conceptually rich framework for analyzing network communications and systems. While the OSI model offers a theoretical seven-layer structure for detailed understanding, the TCP/IP model is a practical four- or five-layer suite that powers the modern Internet. These models help in breaking down complex data transmission processes, troubleshooting issues, and designing interoperable networks
